As Soon as the Lion of Allah رضی اللہ عنہ Raised His Hands for Prayers, The Handicapped Became Healthy (Abu Laheeb Shaazli)

Ubqari Magazine - April 2016

O Usman! Have the oppressors made you thirsty by closing the water? I said yes! So at once you                     (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) hanged one bowl towards me by pulling it from the window which was full of extremely cold water. I drank it and quenched my thirst.

Two Invisible Lions: It is a story that a non-Muslim sent by the emperor of Rome came to Medina and asked about the address of Hazrat Umar (رضی اللہ عنہ). People told him that he will find him resting in the date garden away from the city in the afternoon. This non-Muslim searched for him and reached there. And he saw that he had put his leather whip under his head and was sleeping deeply on the floor. The non-Muslim took out his sword with the intention that he would kill him and run away. But as soon as he accosted him he saw that two lions with open mouths were about to attack him. Upon looking at this scene he screamed with fear and horror. Hazrat Umar (رضی اللہ عنہ ) woke up upon listening to his scream. And he saw that the non-Muslim is shivering while holding his sword in his hand. You asked the reason for his scream and fear and he told about everything truthfully. And then he loudly recited kalimah Tayyabah and accepted Islam. And Hazrat Umar (رضی اللہ عنہ) commander of the faithful treated him with affection and forgave his folly. (Azaalat Al-khafaa maqsad 2, p. 172 and Tafseer Kabeeraj 5 p. 478)

Drank Water in Dream and Quenched His Thirst:

Hazrat Abdullah bin Salaam (رضی اللہ عنہ) quotes that in the days when rebels had besieged the house of Hazrat Usman (رضی اللہ عنہ) and had stopped the supply of even a single drop of water to his house, and hazrat Usman (RA) would keep on yearning for water with immense thirst, I went to meet him. He was fasting on that day. Upon looking at me he (رضی اللہ عنہ) said, “O Abdullah bin Sallam! Today I saw Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) in dream. And he (ﷺ) said to me in a very affectionate tone that O Usman! Have the oppressors made you thirsty by shunning the water? I said yes! So at once you (PBUH) hanged one bowl towards me by pulling it from the window which was full of extremely cold water. I drank it and quenched my thirst. And now even though I am awake, I feel the coldness of water within my chest and between my shoulders.  Then Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) said, O Usman! If you wish so then should I help you against these rebels? And if you wish so then come to me and open your fast with me. O Abdullah bin Sallam! I happily told him that O prophet of Allah (ﷺ)! Opening the fast at your (ﷺ) place is thousand and millions times dear to me than this life.” Hazrat Abdullah bin Sallam (رضی اللہ عنہ) says that I went back after that. And on the same night rebels martyred him (رضی اللہ عنہ). (Al-Hadaaya wa-nihaaya vol. 7, p. 182)

Paralyzed Person Recovered:

Allama Taj-ud-din Sabki (رحمت اللہ علیہ) quotes in his book (Tabqaat) that once upon a time Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ عنہا) was present with his princes Hazrat Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (رضوان اللہ اجمعین) in Kaabah that in the middle of the night he heard that a person was vehemently praying for his prayer and is weeping heavily. You (رضی اللہ عنہا) ordered to bring that person to him. That person appeared before him in that state that one of his sides was paralyzed and he appeared in front of you (رضی اللہ عنہا) while dragging himself. You (رضی اللہ عنہا) asked about his plight and he said O commander of the faithful! I used to indulge in all sorts of sins day and night shamelessly. And my father who was extremely pious and a follower of the Shariah Muslim, used to stop me repeatedly from committing sins. One day I got fed up of his advice and beat him. After getting beaten by me my father came to the Kaabah in sorrow and prayed against me. He had not finished his prayer yet that at once one side of my body got paralyzed. And I started walking by dragging myself on the ground. That invisible punishment became a cause of a great lesson for myself. I cried a lot and asked for forgiveness to my father. My father had pity on me due to paternal affection and he forgave me. And he said to me to accompany him to the place where he had prayed against me and that he would pray for me on the same spot. I was bringing my father to Makkah on a she-camel that during the journey on one spot the camel went astray and started running and my father fell off from its back between two rocks and died. Now I come alone to Kaaba and pray to Allah for my health while crying. Commander of the faithful listened to his story and said O person, if your father really became happy with you then be content that Allah Karim has also become pleased with you. He said that O commander of the faithful! I swear that my father became happy with me. Commander of the faithful Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ عنہا) had pity on his plight and tried to console him and offered a few rakat of prayers and prayed for his health. The he said, O Person! Stand up. Upon listening to this, he stood up conveniently and started walking. You        (رضی اللہ عنہا) said, O person! If you had not told me by swearing that your father had become happy with you, I would not have prayed for you. (Hujjat Allah alal-aalameen vol. 2 p. 863. Karaamaat Sahaaba, p. 79)
